Join us for some pre-Valentine’s Day tabling with the Student Health Center and Mary Wash Health Care. We will have Valentine’s Day cards to share with your boo-thing and friends. Also, candy, resources, tips (consent and sexual health), etc.

Love Yourself First
February 12 | 5 PM-7 PM | Campus Recreation 
UMW Campus Recreation is hosting a “Love Yourself First” event with back-to-back 20-minute group fitness classes. No group fitness pass is required. CPE and the Talley Center for Counseling Services will host a table to help you discover tips, tricks, and resources for prioritizing your emotional and mental well-being. Also, affirmation cards!

SAAM Tabling and Day of Action

The first Tuesday of every April is the SAAM Day of Action. Chances are someone in your life is a survivor of sexual harassment, assault, or abuse, even if they have never shared their story with you. Show your support for survivors of sexual harassment and abuse by wearing teal — the color of sexual violence prevention. If you do not have teal in your wardrobe, we will have TEAL pins for everyone. Post on social media using #SAAM2025. Sponsored by the Center for Prevention and Education and RCASA.

Take Back the Night

Join survivors, advocates, and allies for an evening of empowerment and healing as we TAKE BACK THE NIGHT and unite against sexual violence. Take Back the Night: Speaker Registration. CPE at Disability Awareness Month Kick-Off Table Fair

Join the Disability Awareness Month kick-off event where information and goodies, including free t-shirts, will be available from campus and community partners, such as: the Office of Disability Resources, the James Farmer Multicultural Center, Talk to the Hands, POTS Club, Best Buddies, the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services, Mental Health America – Fredericksburg, and more.

Eagles Pledge Purple

The Center for Prevention and Education (CPE) and Empowerhouse (local domestic violence agency) will table with resources, swag, volunteer opportunities, etc. Everyone is encouraged to wear purple. Purple is the national color for Domestic Violence Awareness. It is an opportunity to raise awareness about domestic violence and an easy way for people to show their commitment to promoting healthy relationships.

Clothesline Project

A visual display of sexual violence that often goes ignored. Each shirt is made by a survivor of violence or by someone who has lost a loved one to violence. The color of each shirt represents a different type of violence.

Paper Bag Luminaries + Purple Night
Wednesday, October 15 | 11:00 am- 3:00 pm | S.T.A.R.S. Suite, Lee Hall 308
Stop by to help us decorate luminaries to raise awareness for domestic violence and show solidarity with survivors. Also, enjoy some purple-inspired desserts. At night, the center of campus will turn purple to honor and recognize survivors of domestic violence.

My Costume Is Not Consent @ Scary Washington

Halloween is upon us! We are excited to join Scary Washington, the annual CRUC Halloween takeover. In the fun of Halloween and checking out the festivities on and off campus, we send a reminder that costumes don’t equal consent. Stop by our area to grab candy, Halloween swag, and messaging around consent from the Center for Prevention and Education (CPE). The Student Health Center (SHC), Talley Center for Counseling Services, Rappahannock Council Against Sexual Assault (RCASA), and Mary Washington Health Care (MWHC) will also provide information and swag about sexual health.
